Dorothy Van Hees, age 91 of Delavan, WI, passed away on Saturday April 5, 2014 at Ridgestone Terrace in Elkhorn, WI to live with her Lord and to join her parents, Fred and Cornelia Kramer, her husband, George Venema, her son, George Venema Jr., her brothers, Jake and Henry Kramer, her brother-in-law, Henry Yahn, her husband, Kenneth Van Hees, her sister-in-laws; Arlene Kramer, Clara Kramer, Frances Yahn, and Lucy Kramer. She was a resident of Delavan, WI, most of her life. Dorothy was born in Sibley, Iowa on December 2, 1922. She was united in marriage to George Venema on December 14, 1946 at the Christian Reformed Church in Racine, WI. Dorothy was a physicians assistant before her marriage. She was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Delavan, where she taught Sunday School for a time and worked on many committees. Dorothy is survived by her brother, Cornelius Kramer, Mitchell and Ann Venema, Marge Venema, many nieces and nephews, step-children, and step-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the Christian Reformed Church in Delavan, WI, with Rev. Dan Roeda officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until services time at the church on Wednesday. Burial will follow services at Spring Grove Cemetery.
