Pastor Richard A. Thompson, age 81 of Elkhorn, WI, passed away April 6, 2014 at Mercy Janesville Hospital under Hospice Care. He is now with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Richard was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Thompson of Beloit, WI, where he graduated from Beloit High School. He married Barbara June Harker on March 25, 1956 in Benton, WI. Richard was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He was an English teacher at Williams Bay High School for 17 years. Richard was called to serve the Lord and attended seminary in Dubuque, Iowa and became a minister in the Lutheran faith.
Richard is survived by his wife Barbara June, their three children; Kevin (Karla) Thompson of Woodridge, IL, Eric (Donna) Thompson of Elkhorn, WI, and Jill Thompson of Stoughton, WI, eight grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and one brother, Kenny Thompson of Beloit, WI.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan, WI with Rev. William Wagner officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30am till service time at the funeral home on Friday. Burial will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Lake Geneva, WI.
