DELAVAN - Eleanor Alice Levine (nee Gaessler) was called home surrounded by love with her family and her care givers at Ridgestone Memory Care facility on Friday, October 11, 2024
Ellie was born in Chicago, IL on July 31, 1931 to William and Elizabeth (Thome) Gaessler. She married Earl Levine in 1949. Ellie was a resident of Lake Geneva, WI, Williams Bay, WI, and Delavan, WI.
Ellie obtained her nursing license in 1972. She was employed at Burlington Hospital, Lakeland Nursing Home in Elkhorn, WI. and Sherwood Nursing Home in Williams Bay, WI. Upon retirement she enjoyed taking walks and helping people in her community and spending time with her family. During her lifetime Ellie enjoyed reading, writing in her journals and writing poetry. Ellie was a pioneer for women's rights and an active member of the National Organization for Women. Ellie had a very strong faith and went church regularly.
Mother of three to Bruce Levine (Linda), Barbara Christopherson (James), and Tracey Levine (Don Frazer); Grandmother to Philip Christopherson, Joseph Christopherson (Julie). Emily Levine, Angela Roman, and Jeremy Roman (son, Joseph); Sister to Dorothy Koehler and Bert Gaessler (Jane).
Private Memorial Service will be held at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
