Elizabeth "Ann" Hyatt

Elizabeth “Ann” Hyatt passed away on February 6, 2026, at the age of 81.

Elizabeth was born on September 18, 1944, in Fort Madison, Iowa. She was known as Ann for most of her life and later went by Elizabeth. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren called her “Nonee.”

After high school, she married her first husband, Gerald Holmes, with whom she shared nearly 30 years of marriage and raised three sons. Motherhood was a defining role in her life, and she devoted many years to caring for her family. She later remarried Glenn Hyatt.

Throughout her life, Elizabeth worked in roles centered on home, faith, and service, including being a homemaker and a minister’s wife, serving as Director of the Women’s Division at the Nashville Union Mission, working as a supervisor at Lambs Farm, and later working as a nanny.

Elizabeth was friendly and welcoming to all and never short on conversation. Her faith was central to her life and guided her daily. She found purpose in being helpful and took quiet pride in doing her part.

She found joy in simple routines, her morning and afternoon coffee, reading, journaling, coloring on her phone, spending time with her beloved cats, and taking walks. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting many states throughout her life. She especially loved Mexican food and often joked that she could eat it every day. She carried a lifelong fondness for collecting, which in her later years settled into a quiet love of butterflies.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gerald Holmes and Glenn Hyatt; her parents, Mildred and Lee Kildew; and her brothers, Dennis and Jerry.

She is survived by her sister, Marie Gill; her sons, Edward (Michele) Holmes, Randal Holmes, and Troy Holmes; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and other family members.

A public visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 1:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:30 p.m., at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Avenue, Delavan, WI. A reception will follow at The Dining Hall (red building) in Elkhorn, WI, located at the Walworth County Fairgrounds, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A private burial will take place at a later date.
