George Gallion Jr, age 76, of Wausau Wisconsin, passed away in the comfort of his home August 29th, 2021. George was born October 29, 1944 by his mother Bertha Mae Maynie (2019) and George Gallion Sr. (2001) in Chicago Illinois. He was proceed in death by his sisters Willa Mae Stevens, Jeanette Moore, and brother, Robert Carter. 

George went to Dwight D Eisenhower high school. After high school, George enlisted in the Navy. He served in the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1968. After his service to our country he completed an Associates degree in diesel mechanic.

Through the years George started a family, owned his own business in automotive repair, and later retired as an Illinois railroader locomotive mechanic. He later moved to Wisconsin and continued diesel work with farm tractors and Semi trucks. During his retirement he loved sitting down with friends to play a game of chess; he used to say that nobody could beat him. He also enjoyed long nights of Catfishing. Fishing was his favorite pass time. He would talk your ear off about the ins and outs on catfishing. Although there were many struggles in George’s life, he persisted and accomplished a great number things. 

George leaves to cherish his memory his siblings: Bertha, Diane, Donald, Jacqueline, and Denise. His children also include George (Phooney), Andre, Anthony, Zachary, Elizabeth, Gabriel, Joseph, and Imara.
