Johannes "John" A. Lefel

DELAVAN – Johannes “John” A. Lefel, age 84, of Delavan passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn. He was born in the Netherlands on July 13, 1930 to Henricus and Maria (Cornelissen) Lefel. John proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage to Johanna Fokkema on June 16, 1949 in Heerlen, Netherlands. He retired as a welder at GM after many years. John loved hunting, fishing, traveling, and racing homing pigeons.

John is survived by his daughter, Elisabeth (Bill) Yazbec, of Delavan; a son, John (Susan) Lefel, of Delavan; five grandsons, Kyle (Amy) McDonough, of Chicago, Jared (Roxanne) McDonough, of Bear Creek, NC, Joshua (Lori) Lefel, of Sharon, Zac (Kristin) Lefel, of Sun Prairie, WI, and Isaac (Hollie) Lefel, of Delavan; 13 great-grandchildren, Madison, Maria, Grace, Emma, Connor, Abby, Logan, Kyle, Sophie, Maura, Ashley, Adam, and Aidan; and many nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by his wife, Johanna; his parents; a brother, Henk; and a sister, Jeannette.

Private Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Ave.  Burial will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery in Delavan.  MONROE FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family. Please visit us at monroefh.com.
