Delavan – John Boland, 73, of Delavan passed away at home on July 3, 2024 in La Crosse, WI. He was born in Chicago, IL on November 24, 1950 to John and LaVerne (Sauve) Boland. He graduated from Willowbrook High School in 1968. He then went on to Southern Illinois University and graduated in 1972 with a B.S. in Marketing. This is where he met his wife of 54 years, Kathleen (Shallcross). John and Kathy were married on June 20, 1970 and went on to live in Elmhurst, IL, South Bend, IN and ultimately moved to Delavan, WI. This is where they found home for 47 years and would go on to raise their family.
John was a faithful employee of Mohawk Industries for 40 years. He retired in June 2013. John maintained friendships with his fellow co-workers after his retirement. John was everything a husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, cousin and friend could be; a gentle and kind man.
John is survived by his wife, Kathleen; children: Leslie (Kevin) Warnecke of Delavan, WI, Sara (Ryan) Gregg of La Crosse, WI; grandchildren: Ethan (Shelby Thicke ), Camden and Declan Gregg; sisters: Patricia (Glen) Brooks of Plainfield, IL, Kathleen (John) Mahler of Wheaton, IL, Germaine (Tom) Gill of Lombard, IL; sisters and brothers in-law and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
John is preceded in death by his parents, John and LaVerne Boland; In- Laws: Tom (Ellie) Shallcross, Patricia Shallcross; Brother-In-Law, Keith Shallcross; Son-In-Law, Michael Dillner.

Services will be held at NOON on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Ave, Delavan, WI 53115. Visitation will be held from 10:00-12:00. Please join us for a luncheon following the celebration of life at Lake Lawn Resort, 2400 East Geneva St, Delavan, WI 53115.
