DELAVAN – John E. Goodger, age 72, of Delavan passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at his home in Delavan. He was born on May 24, 1944 to Earl and Leola (Corning) Goodger. John was united in marriage to Diann Wippich on October 17, 1964. He worked at Sta-Rite for 30 years before retiring in 2001 following a heart transplant. John enjoyed plowing snow on his John Deere Tractor, puttering around in his garage, and helping anyone he could.
John is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diann; two children, Christine (Tim) Bales, of Delavan, and Tiffany (Chris) Kneeland, of Brookfield; grandchildren, Cherie (A.J.) Newbold and Brandon Bales; great grandchild, Dalek Newbold; a brother, Earl (Nancy) Goodger, of Wonder Lake, IL; three sisters, Patricia (Roger) Albrecht, of Marengo, IL, Dolores Goodger, of Delavan, and Dorothy (LaVerne) Gadow, of Brodhead.
John is preceded in death by a sister, Shirley; two brothers, Don and Bob; and his parents.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Ave. in Delavan. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank Dr. Poplar and also the staff at St. Luke’s, especially his two favorite nurses, Jenna and Jesse.
