DELAVAN, WI – Judith “Judy” S. Smith, age 74, of Delavan, WI and St. Pete Beach, FL passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Holton Manor in Elkhorn. She was born in Fargo, ND on April 3, 1942 to Walter and Hildegard (Thill) Stafford. Judy went to Madonna High School in Aurora and to Northern Illinois University. Judy was united in marriage to Arthur C. Smith III on May 15, 1965 in Aurora, IL. After marriage to Art, they lived in Glenview, IL for over 30 years and then moved permanently to the Delavan Club in 1998. She was the owner of HCS Hairbows, which designed and created hair accessories for cheerleaders. She provided beautiful hairbows for over 1 million cheerleaders throughout the U.S. for over 27 years. Together, they traveled to many destinations including Spain, Ireland, England, Virgin Islands, Caribbean, Alaska, and numerous other states. Judy greatly enjoyed being a member of the Delavan Lake Garden Club and the Delavan Lake Book Club.

Judy is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Art, of Delavan; two children, Jennifer Ann (Cyrus) Green, of Fort Collins, CO, and Michael Patrick Smith, of Delavan; a granddaughter, Julia Elizabeth Green, of Fort Collins, CO; a sister-in-law, Jean Stafford, of Oswego, IL; and a brother-in-law, Dr. Charles S. (Peggy) Smith, of Pauma Valley, CA.  Judy is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Sandra; and a brother, Randall.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Ave. in Delavan, WI. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Monroe Funeral Home and an hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. Memorials can be directed to Congdon Gardens in Delavan.
