Karen Faye Smith, 64, formerly of Delavan, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in Roseville, CA. She was born on May 27, 1947 in Chicago, IL., the daughter of Peter and Grace (Hamstra) Van Dyken. She was a Home Maker, a member of the Christian Reformed Church, and was a graduate of Delavan-Darien High School.
She is survived by her children; Douglas (Cortney) Smith, Dyan Southern and Kevin (Lilly) Smith; her grandchildren Neal Southern, Aubrey Smith, Keegan Smith, and Landen Smith. Her siblings;Theresa (Ken) Vander Kooi, Geziena (John) Bultman, John (Elaine) Van Dyken, Gertrude (William) Terborg, Gerald (Joyce) Van Dyken, Dale Van Dyken, Peter (Janice) Van Dyken, and Laverne (Ray) White; her sisters-in-law; Wilma, Pat, and Beth. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers Henry, Allan, and James.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00am Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the Christian Reformed Church in Delavan with Rev. John Bylsma officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00am to service time on Wednesday at the church. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Delavan. MONROE FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family.
