DARIEN – Katherine E. Contreras, age 62, of Darien passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 6, 1952 to Edward and Edith (Austin) Hoffman. Katherine was united in marriage to Jose Contreras on August 16, 1968 in Iowa. Jose passed away May 28, 2009. Katherine is survived by her daughter, Reyna Contreras, of Darien; three sons, Joe Contreras Jr., of Darien, Monty Contreras, of Janesville, and Daniel Contreras, of Lake Geneva; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a brother, Glenn Palmquist, of Sharon; and two sisters, Stella Marinelli, of Rockford, and Debra Hoffman, of Elkhorn. Kathy is preceded in death by her husband, Jose; her son, Gabriel; and her parents.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at St. John in the Wilderness Episcopal Church, 13 S. Church Street in Elkhorn.
