DELAVAN – Kenneth L. Redfern, age 71, of Delavan died on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at his home under the care of Agrace Hospice with family by his side. He was born in Island, KY on April 20, 1946 to Walter and Mary (Green) Redfern. Ken was united in marriage to Phillis Land on April 14, 1967. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Peoples Energy of Chicago after 30 years of employment. He enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family, especially his three grandchildren.
Ken is survived by his wife of 50 years, Phillis; two children, Tonya (Brett) Surges, of Williams Bay, WI, and Philip Redfern, of Wilmington, IL; three grandchildren, Hannah, Jacob, and Colton Surges.
Ken is preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Ave in Delavan. Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. A sincere thank you to Agrace Hospice for the exceptional care and compassion given to Ken during his final journey, especially Sandy, Sunny, Heidi, and Gloria. Memorials can be directed to Agrace Hospice in Ken’s name.
