Delavan/ William L. Kopelke, age 83 of Delavan, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Burr Oak Manor in Genoa City. He was born June 18, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI the son of William and Jenny (Mezurek) Kopelke. He married Anna Marie Martin in 1948 in Milwaukee. William was the General Manager for Humphrey Cadillac and Oldsmobile in Rockford, IL then in the late 70's along with his partner purchased the Whaling Chevrolet in Delavan then known as Crest Cadillac and Chevrolet. He served with the U.S. Navy during WWII.
He is survived by his wife Anna of 62 years of Delavan; 1 daughter, Kimberly Gibbs of Lake Geneva; 1 son, Jeffrey Kopelke of Delavan; 2 grandchildren, Megan and Hannah; 1 sister, Shirley Ehlers of Milwaukee; 1 niece and 2 nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Monroe Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Burr Oak Manor or Home and Hospice Advantage. MONROE FUNERAL HOME, Delavan, is assisting the family.
