Richmond/Delavan, WI - Leroy Hiram Redenius, age 90, of W8411 Turtle Lake Road, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at home surrounded by the love of his family. He was a lifelong resident in Richmond, born on the family farm in Turtle Valley on January 24, 1928, the son of Hiram and Alma (Gransee) Redenius. He married Norma Johnson on August 21, 1950, spending over 65 years together.
Leroy served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a Sergeant. He was a radar operator on a B-29 stationed in Okinawa (1946-1949). He was a farmer and took pride in building the family homestead with friends and family. In addition to farming, Leroy worked full time at Gibbs Manufacturing, Amplifone, Monterey Mills, Kennedy Mills and Hufcor. He instilled his work ethics and family values in his children. He enjoyed hunting/fishing/trapping, working in the garden, canning and baking/cooking, playing cards or board games and spending time with the family. He is a member of Richmond United Methodist Church and Delavan American Legion.
Leroy is survived by his four children: Lorelea (Jeff) Sisley of Platteville, Steve (Jane) of Janesville, Wayne and Carl of Richmond. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma, his parents, infant brother Carl, brother Alfred, sisters Edna, Ruth and Dora.
The family would like to thank the Agrace Hospice Care and SSM Health staff for the care and kindness they gave Leroy and his family.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Ave. in Delavan with Pastor George Noll officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery.
