Lydia Zarate Moronez (Quinones) passed away on the afternoon of March 26th at the age of 85. Born March 25, 1938 on Moffett Ranch, LaSalle County, Texas to Josefina Salas and Casimiro Salas. Lydia was well loved and touched the hearts and souls of so many, including her community and church congregation, Seventh Adventist church. Lydia was known for a playful sense of humor. She generously shared her home to those in need. If she ever had visitors, there was always an open spot at her table. She would often say, “As long as I have a roof over my head, you will always have a place to go, and if you are knee deep in water, I will be knee deep in water next to you.”
Lydia is survived by her Children, Maria (Jesus) Carrillo, Emilia Elisa ‘Lisa’ (Douglas) Cone; Sergio (Norma) Quinones, Roberto Quinones II, Gerardo Quinones, Francisco Quinones, Joel Quinones, Jorge Quinones.
Grandchildren, James Moronez, Daniel (Rachel) Banda, Tanya Banda, Journey Carrillo, Ismael Carrillo, Vanessa (Joe) Koskovich, Milissa Lydia Wobig, Dakota Moronez, Mariquita (Heather), Pamela Moronez, David (Jessica) Moronez, Justin (Jennifer) Moronez, Larry (Laurie) Falconbury, Timothy Falconbury, Quania Falconbury,Tavier Moronez-Cone; Over 40 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and her beloved cat, Loco.
Lydia’s siblings, Alfonso Salas, Paula Ramirez, Ramiro Salas, Rosa Jimenez, Jose Salas, Magdalena Salas Saum, Casimiro Salas III, Julian Salas, Isabel Salas Sutton, Manuel Augustin Salas, Lina Johanson, Raul Salas, Rudolfo Enrique Salas.
Lydia is preceded in death by her husband, Roberto Quinones; Children, Carlos Moronez, David Moronez, Jesus Quinones, Hortencia (Margarito) Velazquez; Parents, Josefina Salas and Casimiro Salas.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
