Margaret R. Guidarelli, age 68, of Delavan Lake, passed away at home on Sunday, September 13, 2026. She was born May 27, 1958, in Chicago to Louis and Rosemary (Marubio) Guidarelli. The first of their five children, Margaret provided guidance and friendship to her siblings—a gift she would share throughout her life with family, friends, and many others.
In 1988, Margaret married John Pelletier. They shared two sons and three granddaughters. Margaret’s incredible work ethic, strong will, genuine interest in others, and deep Catholic faith guided her actions.
After completing her education at Illinois State University and the Illinois Institute of Technology, Margaret founded Hygieneering Inc. in 1987 in the basement of the home she shared with John. Her vision, determination, and dedication to people helped the company succeed beyond her dreams for nearly 40 years.
While Margaret’s professional achievements were significant, her greatest joy was her family. She was extremely dedicated to her sons and later her grandchildren. She was always available and willing to give advice and encouragement—she could always tell when you needed it most.
Margaret and John purchased farmland in the late 1980s and treasured their time there. What began as a hobby grew into a productive farm whose high-quality hay supplied a local dairy, bringing them both great joy. Margaret also enjoyed living on Delavan Lake from the late 1990s onward, especially the boat rides and visits from family and friends.
Margaret’s strong faith was a source of comfort as she faced significant health challenges during the last 25 years of her life. It helped her maintain a sense of peace and positivity through difficult circumstances. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Margaret is survived by her husband John, her sons, Louis Pelletier (Samantha) and their daughter Julia; Frank Pelletier (Sarah) and their daughters Charlotte and Sophia.
She is also survived by her mother, Rosemary Guidarelli; her siblings, Mary Alger and her husband, Joe, Louis Guidarelli and his wife, Tammy, George Guidarelli and his wife, Dawn, and Matt Guidarelli and his wife, Rosa; and her nieces and nephews, Joseph Alger and his wife, Camille, Nicholas Alger and his wife, Michelly, Madeline Guidarelli and her husband Anthony Buchta and their son, Anthony, Louis Guidarelli, Emily Guidarelli, Matthew Guidarelli, and Anthony Guidarelli.
Margaret was preceded in death by her father Louis Guidarelli; her in-laws Helen and Herman Pelletier, and a niece Lauren Guidarelli (daughter of Louis and Tammy Guidarelli)
The family extends a sincere thank you to Margaret’s caregivers over the past year.
To honor Margaret’s memory, give to someone without expecting anything in return, or go out of your way to make someone feel special—she was amazing at both.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 714 E. Walworth Avenue in Delavan. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral on Thursday at the church.
