Marjorie Mae Van Horn Welch

ELKHORN - Marjorie Mae Van Horn Welch, 83, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at The Phoenix of Braselton Memory Care in Hoschton, GA.  She was born on July 23, 1942 in Elkhorn, WI to Frank and Rose (Minerick) Van Horn.  She graduated from nursing school in 1977 and worked at Lakeland Medical Center as a head nurse in the operating room. Prior to nursing, she worked at Lakeland as an operating room assistant and aide. She always wanted to be in the medical field in one way or another.

She loved traveling, being in the wine club with her friends, volunteering at the hospital, and she especially loved golfing. She had many special friends whom she cherished deeply and missed tremendously when she moved to Georgia.

Marjorie is survived by her brother Frank M. (Pamela) Van Horn of Lake Havasu City, AZ; her children Dan (Patty) Welch of Millsboro, DE, Kelly (Jerry) Rinehart of Braselton, GA, Kevin (Will Shipley) Welch of Norcross, GA; Grandchildren Bethany (Andrew Abbott) Welch of Philadelphia, PA, Amanda (David) Ziegler of Las Vegas, NV, Caitlin (Edlee) Kongpachith of Buford, GA, Zac (Anna) Rinehart of Hoschton, GA, Ryan (Bri Mariani) Welch of Burlington, NC, Taiylor Rinehart of Braselton, GA and Brody Welch of West Palm Beach, FL; Great-grandchildren Keagan, Kamrynn and Kennedy Kongpachith and Henry and Ulysses Abbott-Welch.

Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents Frank M. and Rose Van Horn and her granddaughter, Stephanie Mae Rinehart.

She was very special to everyone who knew her and will be missed dearly.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 22, 2026 at MONROE FUNERAL HOME, 604 E. Walworth Avenue in Delavan, WI.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at Mt. Phillips Cemetery in Allen Grove.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Lakeland Hospital Auxiliary.
