WALWORTH - Mary Ellen Bayley of Walworth, Wisconsin passed away on 1/25/2021 from ALS.
Mary was born on April 25, 1951 in Harvard, Illinois to Ed and Ramona Slavin. She grew up on a dairy farm in Walworth and graduated from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in Racine, Wisconsin. Mary practiced nursing for over 40 years with a special love of oncology and hospice nursing.
Mary is survived by her family: two daughters - Bridget Bayley and son-in-law Nick Peterson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Deanna Bayley and son-in-law Max Peterschmidt of Seattle, Washington; a sister - Joanne Slavin and brother-in-law Mark Engstrom of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; and several wonderful nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Bayley and a sister, Beth Anderson.
Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Creek Road Community Church, W7778 Creek Road in Delavan. Visitation will be open to the public starting at 1:00 P.M. at the church. Interment of ashes to follow the service. Virtual service will be viewable via Facebook Live on the Creek Road Community Church Facebook page. Recorded service will be available at creekroadcc.org.
A special thank you to Joanne, Mark, Amy, Sarah, Krista, and Bridget for all the wonderful care throughout the last year. Mary also deeply appreciated all the letters and visits from loved ones. She will be deeply missed. Memorials can be directed in remembrance of Mary to the ALS Association, www.als.org/donate.
