Saturday, September 15th, 2012Ramona R. Casillas, age 73 of Delavan, Wi., passed away Saturday September 15, 2012 in Cotulla Texas. Ramona was born in South Dakota, the third child of eight to Pablo and Juanita Rodriguez. She lived throughout her life in Ohio, Wisconsin and Texas and in 1954 she met her soul mate, companion and lifelong partner, Pablo Casillas. They were married in 1956 and were together for 56 years. They lived in Cotulla Texas and in 1965, young and with four small children, they traveled to Delavan, Wi. and later to Williams Bay where they purchased their home. Three more children were added to their family and they settled there for 40 years. In 2007, they moved to Delavan and returned to Cotulla Texas for the winters. The love and happiness of her family is what gave her strength and her strength is what has given our family the legacy of being the best parents ever.
She is survived by her husband, Pablo Casillas of Texas, daughter-in-law Vicki Casillas of Washington, six daughters; Josie (Brian) Schlueter, Rachael Lamb, Isabel (Nathan) Kluge, Trisha (Mike) Fitzmaurice, Sandra (Curtis) Kirkpatrick, Sonja Casillas. Grandson Daniel (Kris) Casillas as well as 15 other grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. 4 sisters; Pauline Roehling, Marie Hughs, Cathy Miller and Lynda Guevara. 2 brothers; Rubin and Johnny Rodriguez. Also Lynda Rodriguez, Edward (Maria) Guevara and Juan Rodriguez, whom we thank for giving our wife, mother and grandmother many more years to be with us. She is preceded in death by her parents and 1 son, Jon Casillas and 2 sisters.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00am Friday September 21, 2012 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Delavan, Wi. with Fr. Jim Schuerman officiating.
