KENOSHA – Richard L. Flahive Sr., 83, of Kenosha formerly of Bristol, WI passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018 at Aurora VNA Zilber Hospice in Wauwatosa.  On July 25, 1955 he married his high school sweetheart Barbara Murphy.  She preceded him in death on September 9, 2013.  Richard retired from UW-Parkside in 1999.  He was a member of Holy Cross Church in Bristol.  Richard was a member of 32nd Red Arrow Veteran Association.  He was a proud Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Army from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1962.  Dad loved golf, Packers and Badgers, gameshows, cop shows, and “Ellen”.  He had the privilege of going on an “Honor Flight” to Washington D.C. with his son, Richard Jr., one of his greatest moments. 

Richard is survived by Michael (Patti), Christine (Rosena), William (Karen), Richard Jr. (Lisa), John (Glenda), Robert (Debbie) and Billy; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; brothers, David and Gary; and a sister, Gaye.   Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; his parents; and a brother, Frank.

The family would like to thank Aurora VNA Zilber Hospice, Aurora VNA Hospice of Kenosha, Dr. Haider, Jamie Cairo, and staff at Aurora Cancer Center, and all of his home caregivers for all their compassion and care of our Dad.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Ave in Delavan.  Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Interment will be private at the Spring Grove Cemetery in Delavan.  In lieu of flowers, donations to VNA Zilber Hospice in Wauwatosa would be appreciated by the family.
