DELAVAN – Robert Arnold Svensen, age 85, of Delavan passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at his home in Delavan. He was born in Rockford, IL on January 26, 1930 to Bgarne and Elsie (Monsen) Svensen. Robert was united in marriage to Maureen Lambert on June 23, 1950 in Rockford, IL. Maureen passed away on July 17, 2008. Robert proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1952 until 1954. He worked for many years at Sta-Rite. Robert was a member of the Harvard Moose Lodge and Delavan United Methodist Church.
Robert is survived by his three brothers, Kenneth (Delores) Svensen, of IL, David (Joyce) Svensen, of IL, and Norman Svensen, of CT; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Jeffers, of Clinton; a nephew, Dennis Jeffers, of Clinton; and many nieces and nephews. Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Maureen; a son, Mark; his parents; an infant sister; a sister-in-law, Gloria; and a brother-in-law, Jerry.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Delavan United Methodist Church, 213 S. 2nd Street, with Rev. Stan Curtis officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Thursday at the church. Burial will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery in Delavan at a later date.
