Roman "Ray" N. Radtke Jr.

DELAVAN – Roman “Ray” N. Radtke Jr., age 71, of Delavan passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 22, 2022 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.  He was born in Chicago on May 1, 1951 to Roman Sr. and Ramona (Wilson) Radtke.  Ray was united in marriage to Deborah Bultman on August 16, 1980 in Fontana.   He was a union carpenter most of his life and was a mentor to many people.  Ray was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved sharing his outdoor knowledge with his grandkids.  He was also an enthusiastic oil painter, cartoonist, lover of music, and Harley rider.  Ray was known as “Catfish” to his friends and “Grandpa Gummy” to his granddaughters and was always willing to help those he cared about.  Ray was a master story teller who was well known for telling hunting and fishing tales with family and friends.

Ray is survived by his wife of 42 years, Deb; two daughters, Melissa Kastning, of Delavan and Jessica (Mikey) Duke, of Appleton; five grandchildren, Corinne, Hunter, and Hayden Kastning, and Avery and Aria Duke; two sisters, Juel Radtke, of AR and Romona Radtke, of WI; four brothers, Steve (Nancy) Radtke, of CA, Nicholas Radtke, of CO, Mark (Carol) Radtke, of Darien, and Greg (Brad Boyle) Radtke, of Madison; and many nieces and nephews. 

Ray is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Regina.

Celebration of Life will be held at W8468 School Section Road in Darien from 1:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 15, 2022. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Hospital for Childhood Cancer Treatment and Research.
