Rose Davis

DELAVAN - Rose Mary Davis (Rosie), long time resident of Delavan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at her home in Waunakee, Wisconsin, surrounded by family.  Born on September 6, 1935, to Clifford and Wilma (Hoeft) Dahlby, Rosie’s life was marked by an unwavering commitment to her family and her remarkable and resilient spirit. Rosie’s kindness, laughter, and positive outlook on life left an indelible mark on everyone she met.

On November 2, 1957, Rosie was united in marriage with Richard (Dick) Davis of Delavan, and they remained together for nearly 56 years until Dick’s passing on June 15, 2013.  Rosie worked as a stewardess for Capital Airlines prior to marrying Dick and dedicating her life to raising their five children together.  Later in life she worked for Social Services of Walworth County and volunteered for the Delavan Service League.

A lifelong creative spirit, Rosie found fulfillment in her various hobbies, including gardening, painting, sewing, and baking.  She embodied her passion for her family and friends through the creation of christening gowns, personalized cakes, and doll and dress up clothes for her granddaughters.

Rosie’s legacy lives on through her daughter Kim (Roger) Seaver of Wisconsin, Richard (Catharine) Davis of New Hampshire, and Julie (Paul) Gerard of Virginia; and her five grandchildren, Alex, Carly, RJ, Caty, and Tori.  Rosie is survived by her brother, Larry (Linda) Dahlby of Wisconsin, and many loving nieces and nephews.  Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, her husband Richard, her son John (Jackie), and her daughter Rosemary (GiGi).

A Celebration of Life for Rosie will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Avenue in Delavan. Visitation for family and friends will commence at 9:00 A.M., followed by services at 10:00 A.M. Immediately after the service, a burial ceremony will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens for immediate family.
