ELKHORN - Sharon L. Kaldenberger, age 84, of Elkhorn passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at home after her battle with Alzheimer’s dementia, congestive heart failure and AFib. She was born on February 25, 1941 to Fredrick and Mildred (Blaney) Gorr in Melrose Park, IL. Sharon was united in marriage to Jacob Kaldenberger on May 6, 1957 in Mississippi.
Sharon spent her early years of marriage focusing on her husband and children. She loved music, dancing and homesteading. She gardened and canned to feed her family. She won a blue ribbon at the Walworth County Fair for her strawberry rhubarb jam. She was very proud of that ribbon. She went back to school and became a CNA/EMT and used her new skills at Lakeland hospital in the ER. Sharon enjoyed many mission trips with her church to Costa Rica and Honduras. Sharon used her creativity and started making greeting cards and journals in her home using her Stampin’ Up collection. She enjoyed time with the great grandchildren creating projects with them also. Sharon helped with many of grandchildren and great grandchildren as they were growing up by babysitting after she retired from working.
Sharon is survived by her four daughters, Lori (Steve) Szabo, of Tucson, AZ, Susan Bodi, of Racine, Kathy (Steve) Morgan, of Elkhorn, and Amy Hughes, of Elkhorn WI; a son, Jake Kaldenberger, of Tucson AZ, 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 3 great great granddaughters; Brother, Fredrick aka:Fritzi (Debbie) Gorr; many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews
Sharon is preceded in death by the love of her life Jacob; her parents; her brother Steve and sister Leslie; a son, Patrick; a daughter-in-law, Barb; and 2 son-in-laws, Rick Nelson and Rick Bodi.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Southern Lakes Evangelical Free Church N6686 US 12 Elkhorn WI 53121. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service on Friday at the church. Burial will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Tibbets.
