DARIEN – Russell L. Erckfritz, age 85, of Darien passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Burr Oak Manor in Genoa City. He was born in Ridgefield, IL on November 16, 1932 to Louis and Mildred (Wilcox) Erckfritz. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Russell was united in marriage to Virginia Wilday on November 15, 1952 in Darien. He worked for many years at Road Builders of Harvard. Russell was a volunteer with Darien Fire and Rescue for 25 years.
Russell is survived by his wife of 65 years, Virginia; three daughters, Jean (Dale) Millard, of Darien, Sandy (Don) Edmunds, of Delavan, and Susie Erckfritz, of Darien; two grandchildren, Krista (Rick Mealy) Edmunds, and Trisha (Jason) Pellmann; four great grandchildren, Brionna, Joshua, Ethan, and Sienna; and a sister, Louise Hage, of Pensacola, FL.
Russell is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Delores Martin; and two brothers, David and Melvin.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Ave in Delavan. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Monroe Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Darien Cemetery.
