Ruth M. Kempken, age 91, of Delavan, Wi., went to be with the Lord on Friday February 17, 2012 at Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn Wi., She was born on October 19, 1920 in Fort Atkinson Wi., the daughter of Raymond and Claire (Young) Fisher. Ruth married Bernard Kempken on October 9, 1938 in Burlington Wi. He preceded her in death on September 5, 1983. She was a Home Maker and along with her husband, they owned and operated The Christian Book Store in Delavan for many years. She was one of 'God's disciples' and a member at St. Andrew's Catholic in Delavan. She was a volunteer at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center and the Visiting Nurses Association Hospice program for many years.
She is survived by her sons; Jon (Mickey) Kempken of Palm Desert, Ca. and Michael (Barbara) Kempken of Janesville. 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Daughter-in-law, Karen Kempken of Janesville. Her sister, Esther Campbell of Milwaukee. Also surviving are nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bernard, her son Paul, 2 grandchildren, Sheryl and David. 1 great grandchild, Jackson
Funeral Mass will be 11:00am Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Delavan with Fr. Jim Schuerman officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan. Burial will be at St. Andrew's Cemetery in Delavan. Memorials may be made to St. Andrew's Catholic Church.
