Virginia L. Steurer, age 76 of Delavan Wi., passed away Friday August 12, 2011 at her home in Delavan. She was born January 22, 1935 in Elkhorn, Wi., the daughter of Lee and Kittie (Pratt) Cooper. Virginia married James Steurer on February 23, 1952 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Delavan. Virginia, along with her husband James, owned and operated J & J Sanitary Disposal in Delavan for many years until their retirement. She loved to play bingo and travel to different Casinos in the area. She loved her family and time in the kitchen cooking.
She is survived by her husband James of Delavan; her daughters, Barbara Steurer of Elkhorn, Bonny (Richard) Piantino of Darien and Brenda Piantino of Delavan. Her son, James 'Jr.' Steurer of Delavan. 5 grandchildren; Brian, James, Laura, Danny and Rachel. 7 great-grandchildren; Ericka, John, Ty, D.J., Jordyn, Chase and Ronnie. Her sister; Carol (Jerry) Schultz of Phillips, Wi. Her brother; Jerry (Sally) Cooper of Hawkins Wi. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, Cynthia Steuer and 2 sisters, Jeanette and Donna.
Memorial Services will be 12:00pm Tuesday August 16, 2011 at the Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan, Wi. with Rev. Ray Paez officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00am to service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery in Delavan, Wi. MONROE FUNERAL HOME in Delavan, Wi. is assisting the family.
