DELAVAN – William “Bill” L. McKoy, age 88, of Delavan passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at home in Delavan. He was born in Kentucky on December 8, 1934 to S.G. and Maude McKoy. Bill was united in marriage to Diane Buchanan on June 29, 1956 in Lancaster, WI. They owned and operated Bradley’s Department Store in Delavan from 1957-2010. Bill was the Founder, Director, President, and Chairman of the First Federal Savings and Loan (currently Anchor Bank) from 1960-1984. Bill was on the Delavan City Council serving as President in 1977-1978. He was also past President of the Delavan Chamber of Commerce. Bill was very active with many years of service at Delavan UCC. He was also a member of Delbrook, and enjoyed tennis, his lawn and garden, autos, and traveling.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Diane; children, Bill Jr. (Linda) McKoy, Carolyn Cook, Jennifer (Allan) Bauer, and Kathleen (Todd) McKoy; grandchildren, Tom Jr. (Lisa) Cook, David (Rachel) Cook, Adam (Kayla) Bauer, Emily (Chad) Milner, Benjamin Bauer, Jack Crooks, Allie (David) Flattery, and William Crooks; great grandchildren, Aubrey Cook, Lee Cook, Carter Cook, Camden Cook, Evan Cook, Ellie Milner, and Hudson Milner; brother and sisters-in-law, Maurie and Joyce Buchanan, and Marian Buchanan; and a niece, Pamela Bass.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, David Buchanan; and an infant son, Bradley.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 18, 2023 at Delavan UCC, 123 E. Washington Street in Delavan. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a local charity of your choice.
