William C. “Willy” Putman, 70, of Darien, Wisconsin, passed away on October 13, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on April 28, 1956, Willy grew up in Allens Grove, Wisconsin, where he attended Oakwood Elementary, a two-room schoolhouse. He later graduated from Delavan-Darien High School in 1974 and went on to build a career in drywall hanging, taping, and finishing. A hardworking man with a talent for working with his hands, Willy could fix just about anything. Whether it was a home improvement project or something that simply needed a little attention, he had a knack for figuring things out.
Willy found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He had a passion for gardening, canning homemade pickles, deer hunting, fishing, and spotting eagles. He also enjoyed a good game of horseshoes and cheering on his beloved Green Bay Packers.
One of Willy's favorite traditions was his annual camping trip with his son and brother at the opening of fishing season. It was something he looked forward to each year and a special time spent together doing what they loved.
Above all, Willy will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his ability to fix nearly anything, and his appreciation for the outdoors and the simple moments that make life meaningful.
Willy is survived by his son, Ben Putman; daughter, Aimee Adams; three granddaughters; and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Phyllis Putman; brother, Jim Putman; sisters, Cindy Luessenhop, Susan Gibson, Patty Fatigato, and Tammy Zylka; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Philip C. Putman; and his grandparents, Carl and Bercia Jacobs and Clyde and Leah Putman.
In accordance with Willy's wishes, no services will be held.
Willy's memory will live on through the family he loved, the traditions he cherished, and the many stories shared by those who knew him.
