DELAVAN - Bartholomew J. Walsh, Sr., age 94, of Delavan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Aurora Medical Center in Summit, WI.
Bart was born on June 14, 1931, in Chicago, IL, to Andrew and Margaret (Coyne) Walsh. He served his country in the United States Army before beginning a long and dedicated career as an educator. Bart taught for 25 years in Grafton, WI, where he also served as head basketball coach—leading the varsity boys’ team from 1972–1982 and again from 1988–1991, as well as the varsity girls’ team from 1983–1984.
He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater and a master’s degree from Central Michigan University.
Bart was a member of the American Legion Post 95 in Delavan and of St. Andrew Catholic Church. A passionate sports enthusiast, he was a lifelong fan of the Chicago White Sox, Notre Dame, and the University of Wisconsin athletics—especially the Wisconsin Marching Band.
He is survived by his son, Brian (Rebekah) Walsh of Columbus, IN; and grandchildren Patrick, Reilly (Marley), Spencer, and Matison.
Bart was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Barbara “Babs” Walsh and Donna “Casey” Kashinski; his son, Bart Jr.; and siblings Anna Marie, Margaret, Rita, Thomas, Andrew, Peter, Patrick, and Bernard.
Private burial services will be held at a later date.
