Bernice M. Welch, age 94 of Delavan, Wi. passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn, Wi. She was born July 27, 1917 in Eagle, Wi., the daughter of Fred and Anna Wendorf. Bernice married Robert Sturtevant on September 2, 1939 and he preceded her in death on November 20, 1945. On July 3, 1948, she married Ralph Welch and he preceded her in death on February 21, 1978. She was employed at Borg Insturments in Delavan for 48 years before her retirement. Bernice enjoyed bowling, dancing, playing cards, bingo and crossword puzzles. Benice brought a smile to everyone she meet and was loved by many.
She is survived by her 3 children; Kayleen (Welch) Watts of Key West Fl., Anne (Sturtevant) LaBouy of Delavan Wi. and James Sturtevant of St. Cloud Fl. 7 grandchildren; Tobie (Jamie) Watts-Green, Deidra Watts, Kari (Al) Knack, Kelly (Pat) Harrington, Rae Ann (Carl) Missigman, Dawn (Al) Buttrum and Shane Sturtevant. 14 great-grandchildren. 3 sisters; Florence Knight, Betty Kutz and Arlene Smith. Also surviving are nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a great-grandchild, brothers; Clayton and Lyle Wendorf, her sister, Lorayne Shadel.
