Dorothy Yadon

Dorothy Yadon, age 84 of Delavan, Wi. passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Willowfield Nursing Home in Delavan, She was born in Tigerton Wi on March 31, 1927, the daughter of Gerhard and Ida (Ahrens) Mader. She graduated from Wisconsin Rapids High School in 1944 and then from The Milwaukee School of Cosmotology. Dorothy married Gordon Yadon in Wisconsin Rapids on September 9, 1948.

She worked as a hair stylist in the Delavan community for many years until her retirement. She was a active member in the Ladies Auxiliary of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She also enjoyed being assistant superintendant of the garden produce department at the Walworth County Fair. For 25 years, she hosted the Annual Circus Fans annual meeting.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Gordon of Delavan; her daughter, Caryl (Paul) Eyre of Cleveland, Ohio; her son Douglass of Delavan; grandchildren, Luke, Jona (Jeff) Travis, John and Mark Yadon, Colin, Brendan and Kylie Eyre, Christopher, Matthew (Cheryl), Benjamin and Thomas Ranum; her brothers, Robert (Jeanenne) Mader and John (Barbara) Mader; her sisters, Elizabeth Welch and Marilynn David; Sister-in-law, Marsha West and son-in-law, Steven Green. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Pamela Green and her son, Robert. One brother, Gerald, Gerald Mader.

Memorial Service will be 11:00am Monday, October 3, 2011 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Delavan with Rev. Robert P. Rickman officiating. Memorials may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran School. MONROE FUNERAL HOME in Delavan is assisting the family. Visit us at monroefh.com
