Hazel Marie Williamson

Hazel M. Williamson, age 90 of Delavan, Wi., passed away Saturday January 22, 2011 at Ridgestone Village in Delavan. She was born July 11, 1920 in Delavan, the only child of Frank and Helen (Waite) Thomas. She married the late Attorney Eugene Williamson in Quantico Va. and he precedes her in death in 1975. Hazel was a 1937 graduate of Delavan High School and a graduate of Francis Shimer Jr. College in Mt. Prospect, Il. Hazel was an accomplished equestrian, tennis player and was a member at Delbrook golf course in Delavan. She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary. She volunteered at the Walworth County Fair, antique division and at the Clown Hall of Fame museum in Delavan. She also was active in the Wisconsin Bar Association while working at her husbands law office. Hazel enjoyed her several Himalayan cats and her oil landscape painting. Many daysHazel could be found selling tickets at the Delavan Dog Track or being an educational aide at Delavan-Darien High School.

Surviving are 4 daughters; Terry (John) Lago of Oshkosh, Gene Jacquet of Appleton, Mary (Tom) Mabry of Delavan and Gerri Fleming of Delavan. 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Eugene and 1 son-in-law Jim.

Funeral Services will be 11:00am Wednesday January 26, 2011 at the Monroe Funeral Home with Chaplain Sue Cripe-Benzon officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30am to service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Andrews Cemetery. Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan is assiting the family.
