Kenneth Morgan, age 99 of Darien, Wi. passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side, Saturday, January 7, 2012 at his present home at Terrace View Living Center in Shell Lake Wi. He was born in Walworth County September 27, 1912, to the parents of Miles and Mattie (Gould) Morgan. Ken had been married to Evelyn Rabuck for 71 years before her death in September of 2006. Ken lived on a farm most of his life, working for the Canning Factory, Hemp Mills, hauling milk, Woolen Mills and for 36 years, Rural Electrical Association. After retirement, he and Evelyn purchased a farm in northern Wisconsin. They raised cattle and chickens and later bought several miniature donkeys and had a great love and fun raising them. At the age of 90, Ken was still pretty good at throwing hay bales, walking the farm over, cutting wood and stacking brush. After losing his wife in 2006, he was more dependent on others for his care. In the fall of 2009 he entered the nursing home in northern Wisconsin. He enjoyed winning at bingo and other games with the residents.
He is survived by his son Robert Morgan of Springbrook Wi. His daughters; Charlene (George) Whiteaker of Tx. and Kay Orpha of Springbrook Wi. 2 sisters; Joyce Bigelow of Delavan and Jean Lind of Belvidere Il. 14 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 30 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Evelyn, 5 brothers; John, Merle, Lyle, Donald and Glen. 4 sisters; Verda, Hazel, Ethel and Audrey. Granddaughters, Crystal Williams and Callie Domstrich. Grandson, Randy Hoffman and great granddaughter Brandi Aide.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am Thursday January 12, 2012 at the Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan Wi., with Rev. Mike Ida officiating. Visitaion will be from 10:00am to service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Darien Cemetery. MONROE FUNERAL HOME in Delavan, wi. is assisting the family.
