DELAVAN – Kimberly A. Holmes, age 57, of Delavan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on August 13, 1968, in Centerville, Tennessee.
After graduating from Dickson County High School in 1986, Kimberly married Troy Holmes, and together they created a home rooted in warmth, dedication, and family.
Kimberly spent many years serving others as a Direct Support Professional at Lambs Farm, a group home for adults with developmental disabilities. She cared for the participants with patience, tenderness, and compassion that came naturally to her. She cared for others the way she lived, with patience, tenderness, and a loving heart.
Kimberly also carried a strong faith and a deep love for God. Her belief shaped the way she lived, cared for others, and faced life’s challenges with quiet strength and grace. She shared those values with her children.
At home, Kimberly found comfort and joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed watching TV and YouTube vlogs, listening to music, coloring, crafting, reading, and relaxing with her favorite cross-stitch game. She treasured time with her family more than anything. To her grandchildren, she was lovingly known as “Mimi”, a role she cherished with all her heart. Her grandkids were her greatest joy, and she loved each of them fiercely and unconditionally.
Kimberly is survived by her devoted husband, Troy; her daughters, Jessica (Peter) Houseman of Janesville and Audrey (Mark) Berberich of Beloit; her sons, Troy Holmes Jr. of Delavan and Zachariah Holmes of Delavan; and her cherished grandchildren, Elijah, Elon, Emerson, and Easton. She is also survived by her siblings, Stacia Johnson and Joseph King, along with many extended family members who will forever treasure her memory.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Bernice “Pauline” King.
A public visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Avenue, Delavan.
Kimberly will be remembered for her tenderness, her humor, her generous heart, her deep love for her family, and the way she made home feel like the place where everyone belonged. Though she will be missed beyond words, the love and faith she instilled in her family will continue to surround them.
