Linda M. Beattie

On Tuesday, March 2, 2021, Linda Marilyn Beattie, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 80 in her home.

Linda was born on December 9, 1940 in Milwaukee, WI to Leopold Schuster and Catherine Maurer (Fox). When her father passed when she was one, she was then raised by step-father, Wendell Schmidt and her mother. She worked for SEMCO, aka Safety Envelope Mfg Co. for 46 years and was awarded bonuses every month for never taking a sick day. She raised one daughter, Amy with her late husband, John Kuehn.

Linda loved her family very much, more than her own life, especially her grandchildren. She would tell Amy, “just wait until you have grandchildren, you will love them sooooo much, it’s incredible.” She was very content in her life and cherished quality time. She also enjoyed going to her cottage over the years, it was her favorite place. Her favorite hobby, however, was planting flowers and arranging her flower pots around her porch and yard.

She was known for her hard work, her resilience, and her selflessness. Through the years Linda would open her home to those that needed help without a second thought. She was a tough woman but would not hesitate to give you the shirt off her back if you needed it.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Leopold Schuster, her mother, Catherine Maurer (Fox), her step-father, Wendell Schmidt, her former husband’s: Kenneth Spoerl, John Kuehn, and Thomas Beattie, and her sister Kathy Schmidt (Knox). She is survived by her daughter, Amy Spoerl (Legan), son in law, Doug Legan, four grandchildren, Casey, Savannah, Karly, and Bethany Legan, her step children, Nicholas Beattie and Monica Mendoza (Beattie) and their children, her sister Margaret Schmidt (Krimmer) and brother William Schmidt. Linda will also be remembered by many relatives and friends.

We celebrate the life of Linda together as a family, just as she would want it.
