DELAVAN – Marvin “Barney” R. Hanna, age 95, of Delavan passed away at Aurora Summit Medical Center on Friday, August 4, 2023. Barney was born in Fontana on March 18, 1928 to James and Ethel (Davis) Hanna. Barney proudly served in the U.S. Army. He married Betty Hultgren on October 22, 1951. Betty passed away on June 26, 2017. Barney was a project foreman at Martin-Peterson Co. for many years before retiring to Hayward, WI. Barney and Betty enjoyed taking trips to Texas and Arizona during the winter months. Barney was an accomplished woodworker. If it needed to be fixed, Barney could fix it. If it needed to be built, Barney could build it. And now Barney is going home to be with Betty.
Barney is survived by his two sons, Mark of Hayward, WI and Gary “Face” of Delavan; 3 grandsons and 3 great grandsons.
Barney was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; a son Jeffrey; and 3 brothers, Robert, Lowell, and Miles.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 14, 2023 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Ave. in Delavan. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Lake Geneva.
