Roger G. Wuttke

DELAVAN - Roger Gerald Wuttke, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, 87, of Delavan, WI, passed away February 1, 2026. He was born November 5, 1938 to Harry & Mabel (Oldenburg) Wuttke. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1956. He was in the United States Army from 1957-1959. On May 12, 1962 he was united in marriage to Karen Jean Sundberg. They spent 63 years together raising three children.

In 1965 Roger founded Farm-City Elevator, Inc. Roger was a dairy farmer who wanted to stay in the agriculture industry after deciding to sell his cows. In 1966 he purchased a feed mill in Delavan, WI that served local dairy, hog and chicken producers. 18 months later he sold the Delavan facility and purchased another feed mill in Darien, WI in July 1967. In 1978 Roger purchased the adjacent grain elevator. From that time on, Farm City Elevator went through many expansions to keep up with the increasing grain production in the local area, and now has over 22 million bushels of grain storage.

In May 1985, Roger’s son Randy joined Farm City Elevator, Inc., after graduating from UW-Madison with a degree in agricultural economics. Randy now owns and runs Farm City’s multiple locations- Darien, Orfordville, Milton, Brodhead, Zenda, Caledonia, & Storage in Sharon. Two of Roger’s grandsons Reed & Gage are also involved in the business.

Unfortunately, on September 12, 2001, the feed mill in Darien caught fire and was completely destroyed. After much time, effort, and research, the feed portion of Farm City Elevator, Inc., was rolled into a joint venture with Northern FS (presently Conserv FS). Complete Feed LLC started operations in March 2002 in Sharon, WI serving livestock producers in a 50-mile radius of the state line.

Roger loved life and loved to drive. In his younger years he enjoyed snowmobiling and motorcycling. He always loved driving his truck looking at the fields. More recently he loved taking his UTV out in the woods. He enjoyed hunting, playing Sheepshead & Euchre, going out for breakfast on Saturday mornings, and being with his family. He had a great smile and a kind generous heart. He was a loving & proud Father to Shelly, Randy & Lorie, and devoted Grandfather to Rachel, Reed, Mike & Gage. He was dedicated Great Grandfather to Simon, Anna & Elouise. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He loved watching baseball & football and travelling. He attended the Rose Bowl, Super Bowl & World Series. He had fun traveling the the U.S. and the world. He travelled to Brazil, Venezuela, New Zealand, Mexico, England, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Canada, Iceland, Alaska, Hawaii, and more. In fall of 2022 Roger went on Vets Roll to Washington DC. Shelly volunteered and went on it with him. They both treasured those memories.

Roger is survived by his wife of 63 years Karen (Sundberg), Daughter Shelly (Jeff) Mullikin, son Randall (Cynthia) Wuttke, daughter Lorie Wuttke, Grandchildren Rachel Mullikin, Reed (Erica) Wuttke, Michael Mullikin, and Gage (Racquelle) Wuttke; Great Grandchildren Simon Wuttke, Anna Wuttke & Elouise Wuttke, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
