DELAVAN – Our dear mother, Sandra Behn sadly passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023 at the age of 86 in her home surrounded by her children and Smokey her cat. She was a wonderful mother who was always there for anyone who needed her. She was so loved, a true patriot and an engaged member of the community in Delavan where she made an impact on so many lives. Her family was everything and she loved them unconditionally with her whole heart. She served 20 years as a member of the Delavan Historical Society and an original member of the Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War for over 20 years. Sandra was born April 27, 1937 at Lakeland Hospital in Elkhorn, WI to Paul and Elizabeth Scott. She graduated from Delavan High School in 1955 and organized her class reunions for the past several years. Sandra married Stanley Soukup and had six children together. When she and Stanley parted ways she re-married Bill Behn opening all of our hearts to a blended family forever blessed.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Elizabeth; brother, Ronald Scott; husband, Bill Behn; ex-husband and longtime friend, Stanley Soukup; and daughters, Sheila and Shelly Soukup.
Sandra is survived by her children, Skip (Patti) Soukup, of Delavan, Scott (Angela) Soukup, of Harshaw, Sherry Soukup (Steve Frederick), of Sharon, Sue (Rich) Schroeder, of Pewaukee; 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and all of those she adopted in her heart.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Ave in Delavan with longtime family friend Deacon DeSales Wisniewski officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
